For the past 3 weeks to a month I have been working on constructing a cardboard boat. Me and Amber Willis were partners since we are the only 2 seniors in the class. We put a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and duct tape into our boat. (We had a limit to 3 rolls of duct tape) So once race day came we were prepared to dominate the competition. However Amber was "Sick" that day. Anyway me and Lane Lynch (A member of the physics class) played rock paper scissors to decide who would go first. He played rock twice in a row, I lost. So now it was the moment of truth. I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins. I set my boat in the water and sat down in it. CRASH!!! Water came pouring in from the port side stern. I almost drowned! Luckily I was wearing a life jacket and only in about a foot of water. Our boat had failed, however other people in our class had better luck. We even one cardboard boat float out in the water for 30 minutes! If you would like to see pictures click here. I would also be posting some pictures at the end of this post.
On another note this will be my last blog of the year. Next fall I will be going off to college at the University of Louisville. Steam science has been a very enjoyable class for me. It has allowed me research all kinds of things that interested me that other classes don't typically allot time for. I have done extensive research on things such as space travel and also got to participate in fun and interesting experiments that I would not have otherwise had a chance to do. I really enjoyed steam science even though I don't really enjoy blogging overall the class was very fun.
